17 year old B is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist committed to making change through music. B loves performing live and collaborating with other artists and has joined Chris Thile, Amos Lee, Amy Speace, Mary Gauthier, Langhorne Slim, Aoife O’Donovan, David Grisman, Sarah Jarosz, Sierra Hull and many others on stage multiple times. B plays a unique mix of folk, classical, and acoustic music and has studied with Ron Browning, Art Lande, Chris Acquavella, Amy Speace, Pat Pattison and Chris Thile. Says Mary Gauthier, "B is a brilliant young songwriter whose music moves me. I’ve watched B develop a deep understanding of the songwriting craft over many years. I am excited to watch this young artist’s music move out into the world and work it’s magic on people’s hearts. Give a listen, you’ll be glad you did.” B will be releasing an EP, Ghosts Underneath My Skin, of all original songs this summer produced by sought-after Nashville based producer Neilson Hubbard, along with a series of music videos made in collaboration with professional contemporary dance company, The Schiff Dance Collective. The songs on the EP address many important and timely issues from gun violence, to the refugee situation, to what it is like to be queer in today's America.

A Colorado native currently living in Boulder, B’s unique approach to schooling has allowed B to pursue what B loves from an early age. Homeschooled until high school, B began piano, voice and guitar at age five and mandolin at age eight. B is currently focusing on guitar, voice, mandolin, and songwriting and addition to homeschooling, taking classes at University of Colorado Boulder. B is thrilled to be attending Berklee College of Music in Boston starting this fall. Says Steve Szymanski, Co-founder of Planet Bluegrass,  [B is] “remarkably focused and mature”

Music camps, festivals, and the community found there, have played an important role in B’s musical life. B attended The Mandolin Symposium and Rockygrass Academy and festival for many years where and played two tweeners on the main stage. In 2015, B, at 14 years old, became the youngest member to attend the Acoustic Music Seminar. The Acoustic Music Seminar, run by Mike Marshall, is a program for 16 of the best acoustic string players in the world under 22. In 2014 and 2017 B attended the San Diego Classical Mandolin Camp, run by Chris Acquavella, on a merit based scholarship and in 2017, was Concertmaster of the SDCMC mandolin orchestra. In the summer of 2016, B attended Berklee School of Music’s Five-Week summer program on a merit based scholarship and performed in the competitive, by-audition only Performing Songwriter Showcase run by Melissa Ferrick. Every year for the past five years, B has gone to Rocky Mountain Song School and Folks Festival where B was accepted into Pat Pattison’s selective songwriting master class and joined Amos Lee on stage in a headlining slot at Folks Festival 2012.  When Lee introduced B to the stage, “in that instant the lives of everyone in attendance changed for the better.” wrote the Huffington Post after that appearance. B has seen both first hand and around the world the incredible capacity of music to heal, unify and create change and loves sharing music with others. "I’ve had the great privilege to play with some incredible musicians in my life. Rarely have I come across one who is both virtuosic and profoundly raw and soulful at the same time. I don’t think many people are given either, let alone both. B’s got it,” Says Langhorne Slim. “It’s mind blowing to watch, spiritually elevating to play along with, and damn exciting to see what this incredible human has in store for us all.”
